PNP Identifies Motive and Suspects in Deaths of Policewoman and Young Son
The Philippine National Police (PNP) announced on Monday that it has already determined the motive and identified the individuals involved in the deaths of Police Senior Master Sergeant Diane Marie Mollenido and her eight-year-old son, John Ysmael.
PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said formal complaints are expected to be filed soon, with additional details set to be released on Tuesday.
Mollenido and her son were last seen on January 16 and were officially reported missing on January 19 by John Mollenido.
Initial investigations revealed that the victims were on their way to meet a car agent in Quezon City in connection with the sale of a vehicle. Police said the agent is the godchild of Mollenido.
Authorities later served a search warrant at the car agent’s residence in Quezon City, the last place where Mollenido was seen alive. Investigators discovered traces of blood inside the house.
One of the suspects has reportedly claimed that he witnessed the aftermath of a shooting that took place at the residence of the car agent and her partner on the evening of January 16.
The PNP assured the public that the case is being handled thoroughly and that justice will be pursued for the victims.
