He/She will be happier if you give him/her this as a gift
Marjorie Barretto took to social media to honor her mother, Estrella “Inday” Barretto, following her peaceful passing on January 29.
In an emotional Instagram post, Marjorie shared, “Our Mom, Estrella ‘Inday’ Barretto, passed away peacefully last January 29. It took me some time to post because I was still processing everything while arranging the funeral. These emotions were made even more intense after losing my brother just four months ago.”
Reflecting on her mother’s final days, Marjorie shared that the moments they spent together are memories she will always hold dear.
"In every challenge I face, I’ve always felt God’s guidance, protection, and grace. I felt that grace most during a quiet afternoon at the hospital, a few days ago, when I had Mom all to myself for a couple of hours. Just the two of us. Mom tried to be her usual chatty self, speaking slowly, but her mind remained sharp and clear. Without even trying, she laughed at my stories, and that moment was truly priceless," she wrote.
She added, “The greatest grace came two days later, the morning she passed. I was in her room with only my sisters Michie and Marichi. It was peaceful and quiet—a moment I truly believe God orchestrated and one I will always hold close to my heart.”
Marjorie expressed that being by her mother’s side until the very end gave her a sense of healing. “They say we don’t always get closure in life. Knowing that God was calling my mom home, I believe He gave me something even greater—the chance to be with her at her bedside, a grace that allowed me to heal,” she said.
She also asked fans to keep her mother in their prayers: “Please remember our beautiful, feisty, strong, funny, and loving Mom in your prayers. She is now reunited with Dad and my brother Mito.”
Support poured in from her followers, with many expressing condolences. “Prayers and condolences to you and the whole family Ms @marjbarretto ❤️,” one fan commented, while another wrote, “My prayers & condolences to you and family!! You beautifully described how loved she was.”
Estrella “Inday” Barretto was 89 years old at the time of her passing.
